Music and drama

Music and drama are priority areas for our school. Yearly whole-school performances help to provide opportunities for all pupils to develop as individuals, increase self-confidence and encourage to ability to work together in different age groups. Music is an important part of our weekly, monthly and special-occasion assemblies and services where there are opportunities for group activities and individual performances.
There are opportunities during school hours for the following:
• Group recorder lessons for the 6 year old (Year 2) children.
• School choir -- Younger choir is for Years 2, 3 and 4. Main choir is for Years 5 through 8
• Performances – Weekly Assemblies, Whole School Assemblies, Joint School Assemblies (Birralee and Kalvskinnet Primary Schools), Christmas Plays. The choir gives concerts and a musical is performed every other year.
• Circus School for children from Years 6 to 8.
We are fortunate to have a shared-band room with Kalvskinnet, which can be used both during and after school hours. Help is provided in contacting the municipal music school. The Trondheim Music School teaches a variety of after-school instrument lessons.
