Physical Education

Physical activity is important for the children’s’ physical, psychological and social development. Physical Education offers the students opportunities to learn about themselves and to learn how to work with and respect others. Through physical education the students develop physical competence and confidence and they gain knowledge of the body in action. It gives them a unique possibility to train and develop their fine and gross motor skills.

Physical Education creates opportunities for the students to play and be creative and to meet challenges both as individuals and in groups and teams. Physical Education promotes positive attitudes towards active and healthy lifestyles. It gives opportunities to explore nature through out door activities and it promotes a sense of enjoyment and well-being.

The school has a well-equipped gymnasium for physical education. In addition to this provision, the school combines a range of movement activities within its music curriculum. The curriculum covers a wide range
of activities, sports and movement and gives ample possibilities for a varied programme.

The Curriculum is organised under the following heading:

1. Games activities
2. Gymnastic activities
3. Dance activities
4. Athletic activities
5. Adventurous outdoor activities
