Mr Wilco Vanderkaaden

Mr Vanderkaaden joined Birralee in 2003. Before moving to Norway he worked for ABN AMRO Bank in the Netherlands and India. Mr Vanderkaaden has a Master in Social History from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. He has a teaching qualification from NTNU, Trondheim.

Mrs Linda Sund

Mrs Sund has lived in Norway and in the United States, where she was a junior football trainer. She obtained her Teaching Degree from Høgskolen in Nord-Trøndelag. She has been involved in several big theatre productions with children. This is Mrs Sund's seventh year at Birralee.

Ms Hege Solbakken

Ms Solbakken finished her Master of Education in New York. She has experience as an elementary school classroom assistant and teacher in the United States. This is Ms Solbakken's second year at Birralee.

Ms Lia Vogues

Ms. Voges completed her Primary Education degree in her home country Australia, at the University of Sydney, with a major in Teaching English as a Second Language. She has worked in Sydney with primary students (K-6) in EAL as well as with grades 2 and 3 as a class teacher. Ms. Voges originally settled in Norway and taught at Oslo International School where she gained experience in working with students with 'Special Needs', both team-teaching and offering one-on-one support before returning to EAL and teaching classes from grade 1 through to 10.

Ms Anne Utstrand

Ms Utstrand was born and raised in Norway but has spent 3 years living in the United States while she worked on her Bachelor Degree in Education from the University of North Dakota. This is Ms Utstrand's fourth year at Birralee

Mrs Petrouschka Murphy

Mrs. Murphy is from Montreal, Canada and has been teaching since 1994. Before joining us at Birralee in 2004 she worked at the International School in Bergen. Prior to coming to Norway her love for travel brought her to Japan, France and Bolivia where she worked as a teacher.

Miss Coates was born in England and trained as a teacher for 4 years at Lancaster University specialising in English Language and Literature. Before joining Birralee in 2008 she worked as a teacher in Cologne, Germany.

Mrs Elin Hitchman

Mrs Hitchman has a Bachelor in Language and Literature from NTNU in Trondheim, a Post Graduate Certificate in Education and a partial MA in Education from the University of Winchester in England. Mr Pedro Santos de Mesquita

Mr Santos is Portuguese and lived most of his life in South-East Asia. He has spent the last 10 years in the UK, where he studied both GCSE and A-Levels before completing a Bsc of Mathematics at the University of Portsmouth. Before coming to Norway he qualified as a teacher and taught in three different local public schools in Portsmouth.

Mrs Karoline Sørli Jensås

Mrs Jensås has been working 6 years as a class teacher and a Norwegian & Spanish teacher in Stabbursmoen skole (Middle School). She has a Cand. Mag. Degree from NTNU Dragvoll, along with her PPU-exams. The Cand. Mag. Degree includes mellomfag nordisk (norwegian and nordic languages studies) and some norwegian 2-subjects. Mrs Jensås also has a mellomfag Spansk språk og Latin-Amerikastudier from the university in Bergen. She has lived 1,5 years in Nicaragua; 1 of them with her family and a second round for 6 months working as a volunteer for LAG Norge.
