Social Studies
Social studies fire the children’s curiosity about the world around them. It gives the students rich opportunities to think more critically about the world and how they view themselves and their community within that world.
In social studies the children ask questions and discuss, they read and engage in research to find out how people lived in the past, how societies are organised and what beliefs and cultures influence people’s action. The children will learn about the world that sustains us, about natural systems and climate and about other countries and cultures. As they do this, they develop knowledge about the world and about significant events and people. They learn about themselves as individuals and members of society..
