We are delighted to announce the start of a Birralee student newspaper - 'Birralee Bookie' This is a newspaper by students, for students! It has been started following the initiative of a group of students in Year 9 (now 'the editorial team') and will contain contributions from students in Years 3-11. It has been decided that copies of the newspaper will be sold for a small cost of 10kr. The money collected from the sale of the newspaper will be divided between a charity and the Birralee student travel fund. At the moment the editorial team are collecting contributions to the newspaper. Please support them by encouraging the children to deliver articles, jokes, short stories, poems, brain teasers, drawings etc to their class teachers. The first copy of the newspaper will go on sale in week 7 at a cost of 10kr. The exact day will be announced soon. It would be great if as many students as possible could buy a copy of the newspaper so that it can be a success!

Parents in Year 3 - Year 11 can now sign up for their Parent Teacher conference via the class website or blog. We kindly ask parents to sign up before October 7. We will then schedule the appointments and send out details as soon as possible. Parents in Reception Class - Year 2 will receive more information from their class teacher in due course.

Our Harvest Assembly is to be held on Friday, Sept. 30th. It is a Birralee tradition that students bring in food items that will be given to needy families. Please help this effort by sending an item to school with your child. Canned or dried foods are especially appreciated as they keep a long time. Students are welcome to bring the item any time next week, and we will keep those in the classroom until they are collected for donation. Thank you for your contributions!
