COVID-19 Update

We have sent the following message to Year 7 Families today.

To parents Birralee International School Trondheim - Year 7

Your child may have been exposed to infection at school, Wednesday 05.01.22

There is no longer a requirement for quarantine or testing for children who are exposed to infection at school. It is still recommended that children of school age be tested. Children who have an infection in their household will be quarantined for 10 days, and can test themselves on day 7. For updated recommendations from FHI, see "To you who are close contact" .

Recommendation for school-age children:

  • It is recommended that the child take two quick tests, on days 3 and 7 after close contact.

  • You will be informed by the leader / principal about where the handing out of tests will take place. The tests are taken at home, with the help of a parent.

  • Parents decide whether the child should be tested. Children under the age of 16 should not be tested if it is disproportionately demanding to have the child tested.

  • It is recommended that the child avoids leisure activities and social gatherings during the test period.

  • If the child develops new symptoms (fever, cough, sore throat, loss of sense of smell and taste, snoring, headache, decreased general condition) for the first 10 days after infection exposure, it should be kept at home in isolation, and take a test.

The following groups do not need to participate in testing:

  • Those who have undergone covid-19 during the last 3 months with duration from stripping to 3 months after test date

  • Those who have received a refresher dose (3rd dose) at least 1 week ago.

In the event of a positive test, we ask that parents report this to the Principal as soon as possible.

In the event of a positive quick test , this must be reported at https: //minside.trondheim. kommune.no/ . Then press "corona" and "report positive home test". Positive rapid test must be confirmed by PCR test (children over 6 years must use saliva test). Saliva test is picked up and delivered to the test station.

In the event of a positive PCR (saliva test // stick test) , parents will receive an SMS with a link to "my page" in Trondheim municipality, from infection tracking. Click on the link and log in with bankID for further information there.

Sincerely

The infection control office in Trondheim municipality
