Birralee International School Trondheim admits children from Norway and from abroad. It is open to all children who fulfil the criteria to be enrolled in Norwegian Public schools. Children can be admitted during the school year if necessary and/or possible.
The deadline for application for the following school year is February 1st. We ask parents of children already in the school to confirm their place in January to aid planning for the new school year. All applications received by February1st with a desired starting date of August/September are considered.
In case of over subscription the school’s admission criteria are used. Our admission criteria reflect our mission statement to provide an English speaking education for international children moving to or living in Trondheim.
On admittance children are placed in their appropriate year group according to the same criteria as used in the Norwegian Public school. This makes the transition between schools within Norway easier. Parents and the school may apply to Trondheim Kommune, Oppvekstkontoret, for a delayed or an early school start.
School Fees
The school fees for the 2023/2024 school year are 3.263 NOK per month. No fees are charged for July. Children in Year 1 and Year 2 are offered a free ASP place for up to 12 hours per week.
School fees include all trips and outings, all books and all materials used in school.
Sibling discount
Parents with two or more children in Year 1 – Year 10 are entitled to a sibling discount from Birralee. The reduction for the second child is 10%, the third child receives a discount of 25%.
The school fees for the 2024/2025 school year are 3.307 NOK per month for Years 1 - 7 and 3.388 NOK per month for Years 8 - 10. No fees are charged for July. Children in Year 1, 2 and 3 are offered a free ASP place for up to 12 hours per week. School fees include all trips and outings, all books and all materials used in school.
