About the positions

Position: IPC Teacher (Years 1-5) 

Place of work: Birralee International School, Trondheim

We are seeking a caring, resilient, and skilled teacher to work with children who require additional behavioral and emotional support in the school environment.

The successful candidate will build strong relationships with students, create a safe and structured learning environment, and collaborate closely with colleagues, and support services to help each child succeed academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver adapted teaching and learning activities

  • Support students with behavioral, emotional, and social challenges

  • Establish clear routines, structure, and positive behavior support strategies

  • Build trusting relationships with students and caregivers

  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and school staff

  • Contribute to an inclusive and supportive school culture

  • Monitor student progress and maintain relevant documentation
     

Qualifications

  • Approved teaching qualification

  • Experience working with children with social and emotional needs is an advantage

  • Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills

  • Patient, flexible, and solution-oriented approach

  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills

Salary and benefits

The position is paid as a teacher according to the latest Hovedtariffoppgjøret (KS). The person hired will normally be paid from 563.600 - 799.200 NOK per year (for a full time position) depending on qualifications and seniority.

A 2% contribution to the Pension Fund is deducted from the salary.
