“Almost all drowning occurs outdoors. But we don’t usually practise where the accidents happen,” says associate professor Egil Galaaen Gjølme at NTNU’s Department of Teacher Education.
Yesterday, our Year 3 classes went swimming in a nearby lake. They experienced what it is like to be in the cold water with their clothes on. They connected the knowledge and skills they had gained during their swimming lessons at Pirbadet with a real life situation.
