Positive Covid-19 Case in the School

We were informed about a positive Covid-19 test in the school today. We have informed parents and students of the class involved by SMS and Email (see below).

Dear Year XX Families,

We have received information from a parent in Year XX that their child has tested positive for Covid-19. In line with the latest guidelines issued by Trondheim Kommune children are not required to quarantine.

Testing and return to school

The information that has been provided by Trondheim Kommune regarding the children’s return to school is as follows:

  • Children and adolescents under the age of 18 have been exempted from quarantine from 16 August 2021.

  • It is recommended that your child should be tested as soon as possible. (We have provided a hurtitest kit for all Year XX students to take home today, students are asked to test when they come home today (voluntary) and again 24 hours later. (voluntary)

  • All students can return to school as normal on Tuesday. (except anyone who tests positive!).

  • It is recommended that your child should then be retested once more, the second test is taken 24 hours after the first test (Tuesday evening).

Students with symptoms

  • If your child has symptoms it is very important to book a PCR / saliva test (not the hurtigtest kit we have provided). Your child should stay home until their test results come in (within 24 hours)

  • If your child or household members experience symptoms such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, headache, lethargy, decreased sense of smell or taste, muscle aches or sore throat, please stay home and contact the corona telephone line, tel. 90 50 90 52 for advice.

If you have any questions regarding the transition back to school please do not hesitate to contact us.
