Which book should every student read?
There is no one book that every student should read- they should just read what they enjoy as long as they read.
Which historical event would you like to be part of? There are so many! Having studied History, I have always been fascinated by modern history and the way that society has developed. Instead of an event, I would have loved to have been part of an era. The 1920s were exciting, fast paced and probably saw some of the biggest changes in society.
Which historical person would you have liked to meet?
Again there are so many! I would love to meet Catherine the Great of Russia. She moved from her home in Germany and eventually became the sole leader of the Russian Empire. For her time she was enlightened and is a strong female figure.
If you were the president of the world, what law would you introduce?
There is no one law which would alleviate all of the problems in the world, but one thing which would help move us towards a happier society is that social media is only used for good.
Are you trendy?
Not at all!
What’s your Harry Potter House?
Pass- I have never read the books.
What was your favourite subject at school?
Mathematics and History
What’s your best memory you have from going to school yourself?
Going to Annecy in France for a school trip in secondary school.
What was your most embarrassing moment at school?
There are too many to remember- I was not trendy at school. Maybe the worst was always coming second to last in cross country!
What is the worst grade you got on a test?
Probably my mock exam grades when I completed my A Levels but I can’t remember the grades. What would you be, if you hadn’t worked in a school?
A barrister in criminal law or international criminal law
Is Birralee the best school in Trondheim?
Of course!
Have you ever met someone famous?
I was a few metres away from Mikhail Gorbachev and Raisi Gorbachev when he was in London- I came close to getting to asking him a question!
I have also met Jimmy James who was a part of the Great Escape from Stalag Luft III in 1944 who had lots of interesting stories. Finally, I was taught by Earl Conrad Russell at university and he was the son of the philosopher and mathematician, Betrand Russell. Have you ever been on TV?
When I was on a TV set in ITV studios for a mock British Parliament competition and my leg featured on the news!
What’s your favourite holiday destination?
I have travelled and lived in so many places, that I enjoy the peace that being at home brings, wherever home is. What makes you mad?
I rarely get mad! Which football team (besides Rosenborg!) do you support?
Manchester United of course!
Which instruments do you play?
None.
What song do you play when you tidy your house?
I am lucky because my husband tends to do the tidying.
How many countries have you been to?
I have lived in Britain, Germany, Denmark, Vietnam, Egypt and Norway. I have visited Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Poland, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Czech Republic, Hungary, Austria, Italy, Latvia, Switzerland and Greece.
