The Cultural School Backpack

Our students will once again this school year enjoy professional art and culture experiences at school through den kulturelle skolesekken (DKS).

The “Cultural School Backpack” (DKS) is a national scheme in Norway that provides free professional art and culture experiences to all students in primary and lower secondary schools. The scheme aims to contribute to the students' education and understanding of art and culture by offering a varied and regular programme in areas such as music, theatre, visual arts, film and literature.

The first performances this year for Years 1 to 4 and Years 5 to 7 will take place on Monday, September 1st when we welcome the band Bare Fjas og Blågras to Birralee.

Their albums "Bestefar Burrito" and "Lørdagsgodt' are available here if you want to have a chance to listen to them prior to the concert. According to the band, they would be thrilled if the children (and adults) could sing along with them during the concert.

Additionally, "Køntri til taket detter ned" has its own dance if any of our students would like to learn it.
